COLLABORATIONS | THE PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF INDIA

JD Institute Of Fashion Technology x The Photographic Society of India brings to you, a specially designed One Year Fashion Photography Advance Diploma Programme, from the expertise of The Photographic Society of India and the legacy of JD Institute Of Fashion Technology.

This is one of India’s biggest collaboration in regards to the world of Fashion Photography and academics in Photography field.

Many youngsters have a wrong notion, that merely by purchasing a good camera, watching a few You tube videos & with a beautiful model to pose in ‘colab’ they become a fashion photographer.

Many feel that someone with many likes or followers is a good photographer, they may not be always right!.. .. but then they start following him, what  results- is they learn the wrong thing.

Every subject has a facet of ‘art’ & ‘craft’ to it. The craft can be learnt to some extent, through technical videos, but the art has to be developed.

Composition, lighting, color harmony, visualization are the parameters that speak of your work & YOU. But they need constant polishing.

Secondly one has to change with time, though the fundamentals remain the same. The faint lines between that separated the fashion designer, stylist, photographer, visual artist are fading day by day. Rather they started fading long ago. Hav’nt you seen videos showing a top designer like Karl Lagerfield shooting his own collection?

Any course of fashion photography is incomplete without a proper backing of a fashion institute. It’s always like the better half. It is here in the premises that the scent of fashion lingers in the air! One has to see fashion, live fashion, think fashion and breathe fashion to become a good fashion photographer. Understanding the syntax of the fashion industry is of utmost importance.

The pedagogy of their expert-curated courses ensures that the learner derives the finest and extensive savoir-faire, with a global approach, to design creation.

“I am sure here at JD Institute with the experienced monks of PSI, we would sculpt a new breed of fashion photographers, which is the need of the day.” says, Mr. Dilip Yande
