About Association of Designers of India (ADI)

The ADI in India promotes best practices in the field of design. Its focus is on promoting best practices for design in India. A design profession in India is strengthened and promoted by ADI. Additionally, ADI is committed to amplifying the voice of the industry and shaping policy to share its benefits with the general public.

Vision of Association of Designers of India

A major goal of ADI is to represent the professional interests of the Indian design community, creating meaningful interfaces between designers, users, the industry, and educational institutions.

Key objectives of Association of Designers of India

1. Promotion of policies

Create an organisation that will advise government policy and act as an independent professional body representing designers at the Indian Design Council and other Chartered Societies.

2. An extensive network of designers

ADI will create a community of Indian designers that provides a forum for sharing design thinking and design cases. A design platform is being built by ADI that enables India’s designers to share design best-practices. Young designers are the focus of ADI. ADI is committed to networking with national and international associations active in the profession.

3. Creating a better design community

ADI aims to lead the design community in more responsible design, better quality services, and smoother interfaces with manufacturing. In India, it shall encourage designers to follow ethical practice codes. Through outreach programs, publications, exhibitions & installations, and design-related activities, ADI will educate “people” and “industry” about good design and promote India as a design service destination.
